Google Dictionary是一款谷歌公司为Chrome开发的一款词典插件，通过这款插件可以快速地翻译网页中的词语。

当我在Chrome中阅读外文网站或者是学习的时候经常会遇到一些陌生的单词和句子无法理解，这时候我们就需要一款工具或是一个浏览器插件来完成我们需求，但是一般的桌面式的翻译工具使用起来不是那么的方便，用户需要先把网页中的单词复制到翻译软件中才能打开相应的单词或语义的解释，这种情况还是在翻译软件已经打开的情况下，如果实时打开翻译软件肯定又会占到本地计算机的一定内存，所以今天给大家推荐的是一款“嵌入式”Chrome翻译工具：Google Dictionary插件。

Google Dictionary是一款谷歌公司为Chrome开发的一款浏览器内容翻译插件，它的任务就是当我们在使用Chrome阅读的时候能够恰好地帮助我们理解一些陌生的词汇。

当我们在Chrome浏览器中安装了Chrome词典插件（Google Dictionary）的时候，在任何网站中主要遇到不懂或者是不太懂的单词和短语的时候都可以用鼠标选中这个单词来启动Google Dictionary插件，启动以后Google Dictionary插件会弹出一个淡黄色的弹出框来描述该单词的详细信息，并且在单词的旁边还有个小喇叭的按钮，点击以后就可以听到该单词的正确发音。

如果用户对单词的解释需求更加全面也可以点击弹出框下方的更多按钮来查看维基百科中对该单词或者词组更加详细的解释。

Google Dictionary不仅可以查看到网页中单词在维基百科中的解释，而且可以通过配置Google Dictionary插件以后起到翻译的功能，当选中单词以后可以启动Google Dictionary插件的翻译功能来查看其中文解释，当前在黄色的弹出框内是放不下那么多文字的，如果用户需要更多对该单词的理解，也可以点击Google Dictionary插件弹出框的更多链接来查看谷歌对该单词更加详细的描述。

如果用户是在其他地方得到的一个陌生单词或者是词组，也可以点击Google Dictionary插件的Chrome中的按钮来启动词语翻译功能，在启动以后用户只需要在查询框内输入相应的单词就可以查看到谷歌词典对该单词的详细解释和发音情况。在谷歌词典解释的下方，其还会罗列出互联网对该单词的理解，通过这些相互的解释可以让用户充分了解到该单词的含义。

当用户使用Google Dictionary的时候，由于不同的需求可能对会翻译作出一定的调整，通过Google Dictionary插件的设置界面可以完美地解决这一点，在配置界面用户可以选择当前语言，如英语、汉语等，还可以选择翻译的方式，比如双击翻译。快捷键翻译等，在这个配置界面用户也可以选择把翻译的历史记录显示或者下载到本地计算机中，通过对历史记录的审查也可以对用户的学习起到很大的帮助作用。

With this extension, you can:

1) Double-click any word to view its definition in a small pop-up bubble.

2) View the complete definition of any word or phrase using the toolbar dictionary.

3) Store a history of words you've looked up, so you can practice them later.

Foreign words are automatically translated to your language of choice.

If you opt in (via the options page), this extension will store a history of all your looked-up words and their definitions. You can download this history as a CSV file at any time. Google Dictionary(by Google)插件安装

1、在打开的谷歌浏览器Chrome的扩展管理器（方法：点击最左侧的三个点，在弹出的菜单中选择【更多工具】-【扩展程序】，或者你可以在地址栏中直接输入chrome://extensions/）

2、进入扩展程序页面后将开发者模式打勾

3、最后将解压出来的Google Dictionary(by Google).crx离线文件拖入到浏览器中即可安装添加（安装前可以确认插件版本是否为v4.1.5）

4、如果出现无法添加到个人目录中的情况，可以将crx文件右键，然后选择【管理员取得所有权】，再尝试重新安装

5、安装好后即可使用，安装成功以后该插件会立即显示在浏览器右上角（如果有插件按钮的话），如果没有插件按钮的话，用户还可以通过Chrome扩展管理器找到已经安装的插件。
